Being a member of the Association of Lithuanian Translation Companies, the team of LINGVOBALT translation company feels proud to have contributed to the creation and conduct of the European Language Industry Survey (ELIS) 2023. LINGVOBALT linguists post-edited the machine translated content from English into Lithuanian and later harmonized it with previous translations. The link to the survey can be found here: https://elis-survey.org/

ELIS focuses on the language industry trends, expectations and concerns of language service companies, independent language professionals, training institutions with translation and interpreting-related training programmes, language departments in private and language service buyers. ELIS was initiated by European Union of Associations of Translation Companies (EUATC) and is now a joint initiative by international language industry associations and organizations, including European Language Industry Association (Elia), the European Master’s in Translation (EMT), the European Regional Centre of the International Federation of Translators (FIT Europe), the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), the European Commission’s Language Industry Platform (LIND) and Women in Localization (WiL).

This year’s edition of the ELIS survey continues on the path set out by the 2022 edition, complementing the traditional ELIS core areas by optional questions on strategy, HR, finance or technology. ELIS 2023 also puts additional focus on human resources, accessibility and young professionals, and continues to assess the impact of the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis on language industry stakeholders.

The ELIS campaign started on January 9 and will close at midnight CET on January 31. ELIS results will be presented and discussed at an online webinar on March 21, and participants, who have completed the survey, are able to pre-register for the results webinar free of charge. We look forward to getting the newest information of the language industry trends and invite everyone to express their opinion and stay updated with the latest news.
