LINGVOBALT has been a member of the Association of Lithuanian Translation Companies for a number of years. Members of the Association started off this autumn with great energy: several meetings took place in September where changes in the translation industry related to the COVID-19 pandemic were discussed. The participants also considered the Association’s plans for the future and the possibility to organise online trainings for Lithuanian translation companies. On November 12–13, LINGVOBALT, specializing in translations into Baltic languages, attended TEKOM FAIR 2019, which took place in Stuttgart, Germany. The latest translation technologies and newly developed products became the focus of attention for this event participants. TEKOM provided us with a unique opportunity to get a comprehensive overview of the translation industry market, as well as to meet our long-term customers and partners there. We are definitely planning to attend the same event in Würzburg in 2021.
On October 10-11, LINGVOBALT Managing Director Aleksandra Drublionienė attended the regional conference Meet Central Europe 2019, held in Prague. That was the second event organized by independent translation industry associations from Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia (the first one took place in 2018 in Budapest). The conference was attended by more than 400 participants from all over the world. The conference was focused on vendor management (VM) and its programme covered such topics as VM strategies, future of the translation and interpreting industry, machine translation, linguist recruitment, communication, success stories and much more.
