On January 19, at the meeting room of the Council of Vilnius City Municipality (Konstitucijos Ave. 3, Vilnius) a closing conference of the project on reduction of administrative financial management and corruption took place.

Vilnius City Mayor Remigijus Šimašius, Minister of the Interior Eimutis Misiūnas, representatives of Special Investigation Service, Financial Crime Investigation Service, Police Department under the Ministry of Interior, the Lithuanian branch of the non-governmental organization “Transparency International”, Vytautas Magnus University, other Lithuanian municipalities and EU countries took part in the conference. The aim of the project was to unify anti-corruption institutions and Lithuanian municipalities in order to use other countries’ models of corruption prevention in local authorities.

The conference was held in both English and Lithuanian languages, and all simultaneous interpreting services during the conference were provided by the translation agency LINGVOBALT. Simultaneous interpreting is a type of interpreting when an interpreter, hearing a speaker, renders their words simultaneously to the participants of an event who wear headphones and hear the speech as if it was being told by the speaker. High-quality simultaneous interpretation can only be made by those specialists who have long-standing experience in interpreting. According to the head of the public relations agency “Ad Verum” Sandra Meškauskaitė, who was responsible for the organization of the conference, the quality of interpretation was really high and the interpretation met all quality standards for interpreting.

LINGVOBALT is glad to have contributed to this initiative providing interpreting services.
